i boarded on the centaurworld season one finale! it was unlike anything i’d ever done before (action and…darkness lol).

thanks to my director jen bennett and board partner maha tabikh for all their support and help!!!

go watch centaurworld if you haven’t!

I love Louie’s storyboards! It was great to see his approach to action and drama!

The Taurnado demo! Dominic made this really cool instrumental bed with wind sfx and I added vocals on top. This was a fun collab/experiment!! https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/aXrfJ8FVS3mPixDG6

This is the demo Megan and I recorded on my iphone for Fragile Things.

We’ll start uploading some of the early/rough Centaurworld demos of our songs on SoundCloud. This was the first song Dominic and I co-wrote together (in our glass-walled office with my crappy guitar).

What other Centaurworld songs would you guys like to hear???

The fact that I don’t see it on my dash tells me that some of you are possibly UNAWARE that our own @sketchshark made a Netflix series and if you like all her weird inventive merpeople, harpies and centaurs there are plenty in this but it is also legit one of the most enjoyable fantasy narratives I’ve seen in years.

Some people are put off by the zany hijinks side of it but I think it just makes the darker moments hit even harder; when we finally see the true villain of the setting it’s a design and concept that could have fit into Bloodborne, and if it had been in Bloodborne, it would have made my list of favorite bosses.

The ten episode series (or hopefully just first season?) is also one long adventure that starts right away, instead of the slow build a lot of modern cartoons opt for.

It’s also a musical with several songs per episode and all of them are good. Fantastic actually, the songs in this make most Disney songs sound flat and joyless in comparison.

CENTAURWORLD comes out TOMORROW ON NETFLIX and you should WATCH IT

(i boarded on it! very intimidating because everyone on the crew is SO GOOD)

Louie is incredible. We were so lucky to have him here!!

Since the very first episode of Centaurworld is up on youtube and the show is premiering in just a few days, I wanted to share the very first thing I made once I started developing the show at Netflix. It was so hard to describe the tone and to tell everyone that yes, I wanted this to be a full-on musical, so I wrote and storyboarded the theme song. At the time, we were at offices in Hollywood that were still under construction, and there were only a few dozen of us working in the early stages of our projects. This rough demo is like a little time capsule—you can hear Horse temp by Elizabeth Ito (who was just beginning “City of Ghosts”), and temp Durpleton vocals by Matt Layzell, who was also just starting out on his pitch for “Battle Kitty”), and me as everyone else. Also, huge thanks to Jessie Wong for doing additional storyboarding help with this!
